2014 Sculptures
It winds through the rolling landscape of the stunning Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula, linking towns and regions, art and people, nature and beauty. Sculptures (9-16) were commissioned by another 8 communities in the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu and were carved at the 2014 Symposium. These 8 Sculptures will be installed in the next few months as engineering and installation works are completed.

9. FLOW
The energy of running water or mystery of the wine and all beautiful wavy shapes, that they create are the subject of the composition. I tried to express the inspiration, the freedom and the feeling for flight that this energy and these shapes bear.

11. FOSSILS
Artists Comments: The sculpture gives the idea about the inside life of a raw piece of stone, which actually stamped in it the planet history. The hard stone we see now was full of life and still we can see fossils of different bizarre creatures lived on this place millions of years ago.

13. HYDRIS
Artists Comments: Xavier Gonzalez likes to play with forms and shapes of a place, a landscape, the horizon.
"Hydris" is strong, elegant and sober.
The subject is life.
It is an organic language, a language with cells.
I have tried to make feel the magical of life to the stone.
Maybe one day I will succeed...
