Sculptors for 2014

27.03.2013

AHISS is delighted to announce that the following sculptors have all accepted our invitation to participate in the Symposium in 2014.  They were selected by the Artistic Director (Silvio Apponyi) in consultation with the AHISS Board from 32 expressions of interest received from sculptors all over the world.

Sakari Peltola – Finland
Jhon Gogaberishvili – Vani, Georgia
Petre Petrov – Bulgaria
Agnessa Ivanova Petrova – Bulgaria
Jocelyn Pratt – Putaruru, New Zealand
Xavier Gonzales – Tessy sur Vire, France
Hew Chee Fong – Queensland, Australia
Silvio Apponyi – Balhannah, Australia

They are all very excited about coming to South Australia and the Adelaide Hills, and offer a diverse range of styles and personalities.  Some prefer to work in granite, others in marble and all are aware that they have 3 weeks only in which to create a monumental sculpture for permanent placement in the Adelaide Hills.

As in 2012, the public will have the opportunity to come to The Cedars at Hahndorf and see these works being created – a fantastic opportunity to interact with the sculptors and be part of a history making event.
